Neon lights always fascinated me

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated by neon lights. Wether they are glowing in a dark alley or they are lighting up in front of a building, I always find that neons add mood, character and a retro look and feel that is both pleasing and intriguing to my eyes.

Yesterday, on our way back from picking up old film cameras at a friends place, my girlfriend and I wanted to try a new fried chicken joint that just opened in our neighbourhood. I immediately spotted that the place was FULL of the precious light. I instantly grabbed my Leica Q2 and captured these images. That’s the beauty of ALWAYS having a camera with you, and the Q2 is small enough that I made it my daily carry over the past couple of weeks.

Here are the that I took shots below. You can click on the images to see them in full dimensions. Nothing award-winning, but I’m very happy about how they turned out.

Are you like me, fascinated by neon lights? How do you prefer to shoot them?
