Develop Your Own Creative Voice and Put In The Work! - With Phil Penman
In this episode, I chat with one of my favorite photographers: the inspirational Phil Penman. Phil is a UK-born, NY-based photographer who has documented the rapid flux of New York City's streets for over 25 years. He is also a passionate photography teacher and has been identified as one of the "52 Most Influential Street Photographers" alongside industry legends, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Sebastião Salgado.
We talked about:
How he got started in photography
How he went from being a celebrity photographer (and hated it) to a street photographer (and loving it)
How success can't be an overnight thing
How to play the Social media algorithm game
What made him choose Leica as a creative tool
What gets him excited and what are his next projects
And more!
You can find Phil's work on his website here: philpenman.com and his beautiful Instagram feed here: @philpenman
